Pair of Antique Middle Eastern Hanging Copper Pails / Water Pots - Impressed Designs (Code 0475)
A pair of 19th century Middle Eastern hanging buckets. They have rounded bases so are not meant to sit flat on the floor. The handles are forged and the loops are riveted to the bodies. The bodies are copper with silvering to the exterior and tinning to the interior suggesting they were originally used for food or drink preparation. They have a rustic/provincial charm and would look great in the right setting.
Rustic construction as can bee seen in the images. Normal period wear. Silvering rubbing to exteriors revealing the copper beneath. Tinning to the interiors largely intact. There are some indents and knocks, but mostly probably from the construction. Nice pieces for the right setting.
Height: 18 cm ( 7 inch ) excluding handles
Width: 19 cm ( 7 1/2 inch ) across rim
Weight: 3080 grams (before packing)
