Rare Victorian Decalcomania Decorated Glass Rolling Pin with White Ground c1870 (Code 6382)
A rare Victorian decalcomania glass rolling pin. It is decorated with clippings and then the ground is covered with white paint. This technique was popularised during the late Victorian period where young girls would create these items. This one must have been very fiddly getting the clippings into place. An exciting piece for the collector of this ware.
Glass in good order. Rough snapped to the one end from production and crudely plugged. Clippings cut out perhaps a little roughly. Minor flaws where the paint has managed to go over the paper which is typical for these items. Generally a nice example of this ware.
