Antique Victorian Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Flagon with Dark Mottled Glaze (Code 9190)
A Doulton Lambeth stoneware flagon dating to the late 19th century. It has relief decoration with flower heads around the shoulders. It is glazed in dark green/blue mottled tones typical of Doulton items of the period and there is a loop handle from the neck to the shoulders. The rim has ribbed lines and to the base can be found the Doulton impressed marks. There is also an incised mark, probably an artists mark, but this is difficult to make out.
Generally good for period. Some wear around the rim with some glaze loss at the tip of the spout. Minor glaze losses to the high points of the relief decoration around the body and around the base. Minor glaze inconsistencies typical of Doulton from this period.
