Description
A vintage 1960's dress ring with a very large emerald cut spinel (lab grown). Lab grown stones are identical to natural gems and test the same but they are generally free of impurities and faults unlike mined stones. As they are created in a lab they do not have the environment issues of mined stones or have the worry of social problems making them an increasingly popular choice.
The gemstone has an aquamarine look and was probably intended to mimic this stone. The gem is particularly large at over 26 carats and is certainly going to be noticed. It is set in a rectangular basket mount with wide prongs at each corner. The shoulders are trifurcated and the band is plain. There are no makers marks or hallmarks at all, however it tests as 9ct gold.

Condition: The gem has minor wear along some of the facet edges and a couple of light scratches to the face which you may just about be able to see with the naked eye but certainly won't notice for normal wear. Gold very good with very little wear. Professionally cleaned, polished and ready to wear or gift.
