Vintage 9ct Gold & Gorgeous 12.5ct Orange Sapphire Emerald Cut Ring Size M (Code A763)

Description

A stunning vintage 9ct gold ring set with a large emerald cut orange sapphire.  The stone is beautifully cut in a way to enhance the tones with stronger oranges at the top and bottom and more yellow tones in the centre.  The band has ribbed details where it joins the mount and the stone is set in a basket style mount with open work in a lattice form.  The band is marked 9ct for 9 carat gold and the ring would be of mid 20th Century period.  The sapphire is particularly large at approx 12.5 carats.  Due to the sapphire size it will almost certainly be lab grown as a natural example would be exceptionally rare and eye wateringly expensive.
