Vintage Chinese Hand Painted Porcelain Plaque Of Musician - Chen Yifei Inspired (Code 2169)
A beautifully painted porcelain plaque featuring a seated female musician playing a flute type instrument. The plaque has a gloss black ground and the figure has a great dynamic tone with skilfully painted lighting effects to the fabric. The face is rendered with an elegant charm with particularly fine detail for painting on porcelain. The plaque is Chinese and the character is depicted in traditional costume and is in the Chinese Romantic Realism style and perhaps takes influence from Chen Yifei. In a low light setting the picture really comes alive and is bound to be noticed and admired.
There are no visible details as to the artist, the painting style and the frame type suggests it dates around the 1970's to 1980's. The reverse has a thin wooden sheet backing and later brass fittings for hanging.
Plaque in very good order with no notable faults. The frame with some scuffs and wear particularly to the top.
