Description
A highly decorated vintage Middle Eastern region box. It is of quite shallow proportions and may have been intended as a desk item or perhaps to hold cigarettes etc. The surface is chased with Islamic designs including thistle type flowers. The box has a full length hinge and stands on low bracket feet. It has a regional hallmark for the .84 standard silver and the town mark. However there are signs of copper at the edges and in places on the patterning, so this does call into doubt the correctness of the marking.
Condition
Minor wear with a couple of small dents to the lid lip. A dent to the base by the punched hallmarks.
