Description

A vintage sterling silver folding magnifying glass.  It is of octagonal form and the magnifier works well.  The outer case is encrusted with marcasites and has a curved sided triangle to the centre.  It has a pad mark to the edge of the lens bezel reading 925 for sterling silver.  The lens folds inside the outer section for protection and holds in quite firmly.  There is a large loop for attaching to a chain, this item may have been intended for use with a chatalaine and is probably early to mid 20th century in period. 
 
 

Condition

Very good for period with only some minor wear. Some very light scratches to the glass. Magnifier works well and overall it is a quality item.
