William Moorcroft Scarce Leaf and Blackberry Pattern Tubelined Vase in Sea Green (Code 1663)

  • £29999

Description

This vase is in one of the scarcer of the early Moorcroft patterns and is known as the Leaf & Blackberry design.  It uses the tubeline technique to form the design with this feature being synonymous with Moorcroft.  As you can see it is very similar in form to the leaf and berry pattern but with the alteration to the berries of course.  The vase itself is of trumpet shape with the neck expanding towards the rim.  It has a sea green to deep sea blue ground and the leaves include very attractive ochre splashes.  To the underside of the foot is the Moorcroft signature impressed mark and the Made in England stamp.

Condition

All over crazing as usual for these period Moorcroft examples, very little wear, a very nice example.
