Worcester Flight, Barr & Barr China Dish - Exotic Bird by Charles Stinton c1825 (Code 2126)
A beautifully hand painted Worcester Flight, Barr & Barr shallow dish. It features a central roundel painted with an exotic bird in a waterside scene, this style sometimes referred to as 'fancy birds'. The style of the painting also suggest an attribution to Charles Stinton who was noted for producing such pieces during the Flight, Barr & Barr period.
The dish has a gadrooned rim which is gilded and the border had hand gilded coral branch designs. The reverse carries the full Flight, Barr & Barr mark in puce along with the FBB impressed clay mark. It dates circa 1825 making it nearly 200 years old. A fine example for the collector.
Beautiful condition for period, no damage or restoration, minimal wear. Some kiln dust adhered to the foot rim from production.
