Islamic antiques have had quite a revival in the last few years with good examples keenly fought over at auction. Decorated metal ware is a staple of the Persian region right back into ancient times. This week we have been lucky enough to acquire an Persian enamel on copper pharmacy jar with calligraphic script panels. A very similar item can be found in the Science Museum (Kensington, London) Ethnography & Folk Medicine collection, catalogue reference A121028.
Also this week we have continued to upload more of the moulded jugs collection with a class Eglinton Tournament jug now being live on the site.
