9ct Gold Ring With Central Sapphire & Diamond Halo & Shoulders (A1799)

Description
A 1990's vintage 9ct gold ring with a central oval facet cut sapphire surrounded by a halo of diamonds and a further diamond set in each shoulder. The sapphire is lab grown. Lab grown stones are identical to natural gems and test the same but they are generally free of impurities and faults unlike mined stones. As they are created in a lab they do not have the environment issues of mined stones or have the worry of social problems making them an increasingly popular choice.
The sapphire is 5mm x 4mm and about 1/2 carat and is a lovely royal blue colour as can be seen in the images. The diamond shoulders add extra interest and overall the band is quite substantial so this ring would be suitable for regular wear. Inside the band is a Sheffield imported hallmark with the date letter for 1996. It is also marked DIA for diamond and has the makers mark AT Ld.
