A Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Jug with Solid Silver Rim - Antique H'mark 1896 (Code 8398)
Description
A late 19th century, antique, Victorian period Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug. It is fitted with a silver collar which carries the London hallmark for 1896, but the makers mark is a little rubbed to identify.
The jug is a stoneware body and produced in the typical Doulton colours with an attractive tortoiseshell colour neck band and handle. The body is ribbed and has applique flowers running around.
To the base of the jug is the Doulton impressed marks, and these are shown in the images for you.
Condition
Good order for period, no damage. Minor wear and minor production flaws as typical for the period. Some rubbing to makers mark on silver collar.
