Description

A lovely quality early 19th century cut glass sweetmeat dish dating around 1830. It is cut in the Anglo-Irish style with a double cyma rim and panel cut diamonds to the body.   The quality of the glass material used is very good which is typical for sweetmeats of this period as they were highly prized. The stem is of baluster form with a top knop and it is cut all-over. A lovely example with very skillful cutting.

Condition

Very good for period, some very slight nibbles to the edges but nothing of significance - quite remarkable as this style of rim is very vulnerable to damage. Overall an excellent example and impressive quality.

Measurements (Approx)

Height 16 cms (6.25 inches)
Width 13 cms (5.1 inches) at rim
