Antique Carnelian Aqeeq Takhti Pendant With Yellow Metal Mount & Quaranic Script (Code A829)

Description

An antique Islamic takhti aqeeq with script from the Quran.  It is bound in a yellow metal (not gold) band with double bales for hanging from a cord or chain.  The stone is carnelian and relatively thick for its type.  The engraving is nice and crisp and is clearly legible.  A nice example of its type.

Measurements (Approx)

• Material : Yellow metal & Carnelian
• Width  : 5.5 cms
• Height : 3.6 cms (excl bales)
• Weight: 22.00 grams (before packing)

Condition:  Some period wear and the bales are slightly out of round.  There are some chips to the edge of the panel but these are to the reverse and are protected by the metal.  The carnelian has natural flaw lines and inclusions as expected.
