Description

A late Georgian tankard in Bristol blue glass. It has a strong cobalt blue colour and the handle is finished at the bottom in the style of the period. It has a gilt band around the top and some gilt lettering/decoration which has largely worn away.  There is a rough snapped pontil to the base and it would date circa 1800-1820.

Condition

Aside from the gilt wear it is very good for the period.  The bottom of the handle is a bit rough from production.
