Antique Indian White Metal Repousse Hand Beaten Open Milk or Cream Jug c1870 (Code 1169)
A late 19th century Indian white metal repousse open jug. There are no marks but it does appear to be silver. It is a hand beaten example rather than being machine pressed. The decorative style is that of the Northern regions and the design is typically elaborate. The handle is in the form of a snake with a forked tongue. At this size it would be for milk or cream.
Slight fault to the pouring lip. It is hand made so there are some minor inconsistencies as you would expect.
