Description

An early 19th century Georgian period toddy ladle.  It has a silver bowl with decorative rim and slight pouring lips formed at each end.  It is a little unusual in having a turned wooden handle which has survived the 200 years in remarkably good order.  There are some initials to the front of the bowl, how they read I think is open to interpretation!  There is a partial mark to the center of the bowl, sadly too worn to make out, however the metal does test as Sterling grade silver and the ladle dates circa 1820.

Condition

Normal age related wear.  Wooden handle surprisingly good.  Marks rubbed.  Small split (likely the original silver join) in the rim just above the initials. Slight movement in handle join.
