Description

An Art Deco period sterling silver cigarette case.  The top and bottom of the case are engine turned and the edges are polished.  It has a spring latch and hinges open to reveal a gilt interior.  It has the original elastic although it has lost its stretch.  Inside the case it has a Birmingham hallmark with date letter for 1934.  The makers mark is probably for Rothmans who were actually a cigarette manufacturer.  It is likely they contracted these cases to be made. 
 
 

Condition

Some normal period wear with surface scratches and a few scuffs.  One very slight indent near the latch.  Elastic no longer stretchy.
