Description
An unusual mid 20th century ring in 9ct gold. It is in the Art Deco style with milled edge details to the head. It is set with a square facet cut ruby which is lab grown. Lab grown stones are identical to natural gems and test the same but they are generally free of impurities and faults unlike mined stones. As they are created in a lab they do not have the environment issues of mined stones or have the worry of social problems making them an increasingly popular choice.
The surrounding stones were difficult to test due to the size and setting but are most likely rock crystal quartz. The shoulders join the head in a slightly asymmetric form which is why the band looks crooked in the images, it is designed this way.
Inside the band it has a full hallmark for the Birmingham assay office with the date letter for 1963. The makers initials are A.J.H
The ring will come in a brand new presentation box as seen in the images.
