Description

A very pretty early 20th century Chinese vase.  It is in silver mesh over a solid body.  It has applied three dimensional enamel details with the main panels having a panda to one side and a bird to the other.  There are further floral details around the body. 
 
It is hand made and some of the panels are not quite square. It has a stamp mark to the underside of the base, it is unclear but either a stylised Chinese character mark or possibly a logo mark. There are also traces of a paper label, possibly originally one of the official Chinese export labels for antiques/works of art. The silver tests as high grade, probably sterling standard. 

 

Condition

Hand made and not of perfectly even form.  Some small flaws in the mesh and minor wear/indents.  A small piece of the edging missing around the top shoulder visible in the images.
