Description
A high quality solid 9ct gold brooch designed by Geoffrey Bellamy in the Louts flower design. It features two of the flowers with scrolling foliage and has a safety catch closure. To the reverse is a full Birmingham hallmark with date letter for 1960 and the makers mark GT Ld. The brooch comes with provenance, the original endorsed receipt from 1961. It was purchased from Reid & Sons of Newcastle and has a period postage stamp endorsement as can be seen in the images. The brooch is quite weighty for its size having more gold than necessary for its design making it a luxury piece.
