Description
A solid silver engraved plate by James Wyeth and released by The Franklin Mint in 1974. The plate is set into a velvet recess inside a case styled to look like a book. The plate is removable and has a medallion on the back with further details. It was part of a collectors series which you could buy in the glossy Sunday supplements in the newspapers (remember those days!) and was of course very expensive in it's day.
The scene is entitled 'Riding The Hunt' and is the artists interpretation of the Brandywine River country, some details of this are in the printed inslip.
It comes with the outer cardboard case, the inner 'book' case, green printed insert and certificate of authenticity. The plate is coated to prevent tarnish.
Condition
Some aging to the outer and packaging, plate appears in very good order with a slight miss of the protective varnish coating to the top edge at one point. Pen title to outer carton.
