Description

A large vintage sterling silver nurses type buckle.  It is in the Baroque style and has shield devices possibly intended for initials.  It is of cast form with open work to allow fabric to show through.  Although these items were traditionally used by nurses they are also used as dress buckles.  One half has the full hallmark from the London assay office with date letter for 1974.  The other half has the repeat hallmark and the makers initials PJB
 
 

Condition

Good for period with just some light wear.  Some patina to the reverse.
