Description

A vintage sterling silver mechanical propelling pencil.  It was made by Johnson Matthey under the Yard-O-Led brand.  The barrel is engine turned tapering to a plain ferule.  To the barrel is also has a plain section which can be engraved (it is blank).  It is hallmarked to the barrel JM & Co. with the London assay mark for 1961.  The pocket clip has the Yard-O-Led branding and the twist cap at the top is marked Made In England and Patent 422767.
 
This pencil works by rotating the top cap to propel and retract the lead.  It is working fine and includes some lead and has a couple of spares inside the barrel.  
 
 
Condition

 

Nice original condition.  Wear is very restrained for the age.  Working fine.  A nice example.
