Description

The ring is built around the Mercedes-Benz three pointed star - the emblem raised in polished gold at the centre of a circular head, the three segments beneath the arms of the star filled with round cubic zirconia stones set close together in a pave arrangement. A further border of CZs runs around the outer edge of the head, framing the whole composition.

Between the head and the CZ border sits a blue enamel band carrying the text MERCEDES BENZ in raised gold lettering with small gold laurel leaf details between the words. The shoulders of the ring carry blue enamel panels, each set with a smaller three-pointed star in gold, on a textured gold ground that runs down to the plain polished band.

The ring is marked 585 inside the band, confirming 14ct gold. At 7.7 grams it has a solid, substantial feel - this is not a lightweight piece. The design sits in the tradition of motorsport and automotive fan jewellery, a category that has attracted serious collector interest, and the quality of the gold and the detail of the enamel work place this above the typical examples in that market.
