An antique Doulton Lambeth salt glazed stoneware jug with a tan lower body and brown upper section, decorated with applied stylised flowers, a pinched spout and a ribbed handle.

Description

The tan and brown finish divides the body into two contrasting sections, with applied stylised flowers decorating the stoneware. A pinched spout shapes the lip, while the applied handle has ribbed detail and a decorative terminal at its lower end.

The jug is salt glazed and dates to circa 1900, spanning the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. An impressed Doulton mark is present on the underside. It stands approximately 14cm tall and measures 12cm across including the handle.

Condition

Generally good condition, with minor scuffs to the high points around the body. There are slight losses to the beaded band, probably dating from production, together with minor glaze and firing flaws.
