Description

A very nice example of a Coalport demi-tasse cup and saucer in the Japanese Grove pattern. It features cobalt blue birds and bamboo over a gilt ground. The inside of the cup is also gilded. It is made in fine walled china and both the cup and saucer are of the fluted body design. Coalport marks in green to the underside and dating to the late Victorian period. 
 
 
Condition

 

Both very good for period. Some minor crazing to the underside of the saucer. A little bit of gilt wear to the well where the cup has been sitting. Slight wear of gilt to rim.
