Antique Dutch 14ct Gold & Crystal Glass Scent Bottle In Case c.1860 (Code A528)
Description
A fine quality Dutch perfume bottle mounted with a gold cap. The thick crystal body is of fine quality and cut with bevels to the edge and flat panels to the sides. The mount is indistinctly marked on the rim under the cap and there is a further oak leaf mark to the back of the cap near the hinge. From the design and the case it is likely this example dates to the third quarter of the 19th Century. The cap is hinged and has a friction close which is still working well. The gold tests as 14 carat gold minimum. The original small glass stopper is present. It also comes with the original silk lined case as seen in the images.
