Antique Edo Japanese Arita Porcelain Hand Painted Blue & White Dish with Ducks 富貴長春 (2959)
Description
A 19th century Japanese porcelain large shallow dish. It is from the Arita region and features ducks (perhaps Mandarins) in a simple waterside scene, with one partially submerged. The dish is or larger size suggesting it was perhaps intended as a serving piece or as a decorative object.
It has a four character mark 富貴長春 to the reverse and large spur marks from firing. The mark is fuuki choushun for long life and riches. It appears to be an Edo period example and early to mid 19th century in date.
Condition
Some surface wear and light scuffs which are not obvious to casual viewing. Minor flecks etc in the glaze as expected for period.
