Description
A lovely Edwardian period brooch in 9ct gold. It has a prism bar mount set with a swallow bird which features seed pearls. The swallow was a symbol of enduring love and loyalty and such pieces were often given as gifts between lovers. This example has a Chester hallmark for 9ct gold with date letter for 1904. It also has the makers mark for Henry Griffiths & Son, a noted maker of the period.
Please note the pin is not gold.

Condition: The pin has a ripple, however is working fine. Minor period wear. All pearls intact. It has the hook of a safety chain around the mount point of the bird.
