Antique Italian Faience Pottery Blue & White Drug Storage Jar/Albarello c1750 (Code 0039)
An Italian drug storage jar or albarello dating to the 18th century, probably around 1750 or so. Earthenware body with faience glaze and blue and white decoration. The body has moulded handles and a chimney style neck. Ung(uent) Nervin was apparently a topical lotion used for aches etc and included lavender as an ingredient.
Significant damage/losses around the foot, but will still stand on a flat surface. Glaze chips and glaze losses throughout. Glaze pops from firing.
