Antique Italian Olive Wood Jewellery Box with Swing Out Trays & Turned Feet (Code 2539)

Description

A late 19th or early 20th century olive wood jewellery box, probably of Italian origin.  It has two swing out trays and an open section below.  The interior is lined in blue silk with button quilted padding.  The latch plate has turned detail rather like a draughts piece.  There is a brass lock and brass hinges and four turned wood feet.  An attractive piece with nice figuring.

Condition

No key so lock is untested.  Loss to lid edge to rear left side.  Minor shrinkage splits.  Some movement in the upright panel holding the lid.  Interior with wear, marks and fraying. Normal age related wear, minor nicks etc as expected.
