Antique Nailsea Bristol Glass White Spiral Band Decorated Drinks Flask c1860 (Code 1768)
A 19th century Nailsea glass flask. This example has a tight spiral design which blurs towards to the base. It is of the traditional tear drop shape and the pontil has been rough snapped at the base. These items are most closely associated with production at Nailsea near Bristol, but were also produced in other regions including the Stourbridge area. These flasks were made for use and would have been stoppered by a cork.
Some wear to the flat sides from being set down which of course is usual for these items. Otherwise very good.
