Description
A large turquoise glazed pottery bowl with incised decoration to the interior and exterior of leaf forms etc. The body is a soft earthenware and it was fired in a relatively uncontrolled kiln. It is in the archaic Middle Eastern style but appears to be a Qajar late 19th or early 20th century example. Note the firing spurs to the interior from being stacked in the kiln. The foot is unglazed.
Condition
Some rim chips. Missed glaze patches, kiln frit, glaze flaws all from production as is the nature of these examples.
