Description

An early 20th century plate painted by Richard Sebright for Royal Worcester. Sebright is considered one of the finest painters at Royal Worcester and particularly excelled at fruit.  It features a central reserve painted with peaches and grapes with floral blossom.  The border of the plate is cobalt blue and pink and features elaborate gilt work with raised gilt dots.  To the reverse it has the Royal Worcester mark in puce and the date code is for 1910. The mark also features Maple & Co, London, a high class retailer of the period.  The painting is signed R Sebright by the grapes. 
 
 

Condition

Generally very good.  A small scratch to the white portion of the well.  The odd small scratch to the gilding and a small patch of rubbed gilding to the margin at approx 11 o'clock on the first image and a small glaze fault at around the 6 o'clock point.
