Description

A fine Victorian period double ended scent bottle of large form.  It is by the celebrated silversmiths Sampson Mordan and has chased detail to the sterling silver caps.  The body is in deep ruby red glass.  One end has a spring cap with a glass seal for smelling salts and the other is of screw on form with a cork stopper for perfume etc.  Both caps carry hallmarks for London with the date letter for 1879 along with the makers mark SM.
 
A lovely example from this much sought after maker. 
  
 

Condition

Some minor wear but no significant faults.  Underneath the glass seal of the spring cap there is some discolouration from liquid having entered this area.
