Description
An antique glass and silver plated biscuit jar with hinged lid. It is somewhat unusual in having a clear barrel, so would suit fancy coloured biscuits, fancies or even sweets. The glass section is removable for cleaning. Two of the ears of wheat project quite high from the sides and act as handles for the jar. The glass is hand blown and has a rough snapped pontil to the base. There do not appear to be any makers marks - late 19th or early 20th century in period.
Condition
Minor wear to the plating and a small patch where the plating has bubbled on the surface.
