Description
An late 19th / early 20th century hand made silver dish from Sri Lanka. It is of saucer shape and would have been intended as a small offering dish, pin dish or similar. It is repousse worked with an elephant and palm tree set in a decorative chased border. There are no makers marks which is usual for this period, it tests as high grade silver and is probably Sterling grade. A very sweet item.
Condition
Minor wear, artisan made so has hand worked charm rather than factory perfect finish.
