A fine early Victorian sterling silver decanter label with cut out RUM lettering in a detailed leaf design. Hallmarked to the front for Birmingham 1840 with the head of young Queen Victoria and the maker’s mark for George Unite.

About the Maker
George Unite was a respected Birmingham silversmith active throughout the 19th century. His workshop produced a wide range of high quality small silverware including labels, vinaigrettes, card cases and cutlery. Pieces bearing his mark are well regarded for their craftsmanship and consistent finishing.
Condition
Good antique condition with normal age related wear. The leaf detail is crisp and the cut out lettering is clean. Hallmarks are clear to the front. The chain is likely added at a later date. Please see photos for full detail.
