Description

An antique artists watercolour box dating to the mid 19th century Victorian era.  The box is made on mahogany with banded edges and brass hinges.  It has a working lock with key.  There is a lower drawer with a flush fitting brass handle which can be locked using the drop in pin when the lid is locked. 
 
Inside it has various compartments and comes with the accessories you see in the images.  Some are perhaps original and others will be replacements.  There are some original period paints including a portion of lake green and there are some later tubes of paint beneath, though these are unlikely to be useable.  
 
The box was retailed by Brodie & Middleton of Long Acre London, a well known artist supplier. There is a further label to the long brush section to the top.
 
 
Condition

 

Nice aged patina to the box.  Some losses of the edge banding to the back sections of the lid.  See images for overall presentation. It will ship with all the contents you see in the images. Lock working fine.
