Description

An antique Victorian period silver locket and fancy chain. The chain is made of three elements with plain oval link, patterned oval links and round joining rings.  It is set with two large spring rings typical for the late Victorian period.  The locket is quite chunky and has a chased pattern of foliage to the front with a toothed border with dots. Opening reveals two locket compartments, one with brown fabric, one plain.  Both retaining rings are present, there is no glass.  There are no hallmarks which is typical for this period (around 1870) but the item tests as sterling silver.  Please note the chain is choker length and shorter than we usually use today (due to Victorians being much smaller than us on average) so if you wish to wear the item please check the length carefully.

  • Chain length : 37cm (14.1/2 inch)
  • Locket size : 39.5mm x 32.1mm
  • Material : Sterling silver 
  • Weight: 40 grams (before packing) 

 

Condition: Some minor period wear as expected.  A few links with compression/indents but nothing which spoils the item.  One small indent to the reverse of the locket.  Locket hinge good and locket closes tightly. No glass to locket interior. Spring rings functional.

Tracked and insured shipping is provided free of charge to most UK addresses, there may be charges for remote or offshore locations.  Your item(s) will usually be shipped within 48hrs of order (weekdays), you will receive an email with confirmation of shipping and tracking code when your item is despatched.   Delivery is usually 1-3 business days from despatch, if you need an item more urgently please get in touch to see if we can assist.

Shipping for international orders will be by a tracked (where possible) and insured service via airmail or parcel carrier depending on location and item purchased.
