Art Deco Sterling Silver Engine Turned & Geometric Design Cigarette Case 1936 (Code 2289)
Description
An Art Deco style silver cigarette case with engine turning and a geometric block design. It has a Birmingham hallmark for 1936 and carries the makers mark for Frederick Field who were located in the Birmingham jewellery quarter. It has a spring catch opening and the interior is gilded, there is a partial repeat mark to the second half of the case. Originally made for cigarettes these items are now often used as card cases.
Condition
Normal age related wear with some light scratches and scuffs. A few minor knocks but nothing major. Elastic to interior is an old replacement and rather rough.
