Art Deco Transitional Bronze Figural Table Lamp with Maiden & Children at Play (Code 2564)

Description

An early 20th century cast and oxidised bronze figural lamp.  It features a woman with arms aloft looking down on two children amongst leaves and berries.  The design appears to be transitional between the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles.  There are no makers marks or identifying details that I can find.

The lamp appears to have been recently rewired with modern flex, there is no plug so it will need to be checked by a competent professional before use.  The fitting is a small bayonet (BC15) with ceramic insulators and sprung brass pins so this may be original.  There is a screw ring to the outside of the light fitting to secure a shade, the outer diameter of the light fitting is approx 19mm.  The flex is approx 2.1 meters (82").

Condition

Some wear and ageing.  The oxidisation of the darker parts appears deliberate.  Light fitting leaning a bit.  Flex is recent, no plug so needs to be tested for safety before use.
