Description
A large and heavy cigarette or slim cigar case dating to the Art Deco period. It has an engine turned exterior with sky scraper type detail. It opens to reveal a gilt interior and a self sprung hinge. Inside the case it is hallmarked from the Sheffield assay office with date letter for 1938. The makers mark is for Walker & Hall, the famous silversmiths. There is also a registered design number 782755. The other half of the case has the repeat hallmark.
Condition
Generally good for period. Some minor surface marks and wear and light scratches. Catch and hinge working fine. There is no internal elastic.
