Description

A fabulous Art Deco period small silver box.  It is of high quality manufacture made from sterling silver with engine turned detail.  The lid is set with a large black onyx panel which has two rose gold panels either side. The interior if gilt washed. 
 
The thumb lift is set with a row of marcasites.  Inside the box to the base is an imported silver mark for London with the date code of 1936.  The initials (which will be for the importer in this case) are HCF Ld for HC Freeman Ltd of Hatton Garden, London.  This small box could have been used for a number of purposes including snuff or pills. 
 
 

Condition

Good for period with some light wear as you would expect.  Some minor wear to the gilt interior.
