Description

A George III period double ogee shaped bowl rummer drinking glass.  It dates around 1790-1810 and has a short stem and slightly conical foot.  It is made in English lead glass and the pontil scar has been left rough snapped to the foot.  Notice how the foot has a little bit of colour due to slight impurities during production - feet were made separately and joined to the stem while the glass was still molten.  Rummers were general purpose glasses used for both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

Condition

Some light period wear with scratches around the bowl.  Minor mineral inclusions, about typical for period.  Foot rim with lots of genuine wear - this glass saw a lot of use in it's period.
