A fine Minton dinner plate with pate sur pate panels and embossed gilt brocade.  Further raised gilt work panels and a gold foot rim all in the neo-classical style.  One pate sur pate panel is initialled by the artist L Wood.

The plate was made for the famous London retailer T Goode and Co who still operate out of Mayfair today.  These plates were at the top end of luxury dining and were eye-wateringly expensive when new which is why so few are found today, they were produced in very small numbers partly due to the high failure rate during production as they needed multiple firings for the pate-sur-pate detail.

Gold back stamp to reverse including the retailers detail, further impressed marks and pattern number X1056D.

Particularly good condition, minimal wear.
