Description

An early 19th century small silver toddy ladle.  It has a pan shaped bowl with pronounced pouring lip.  There is a partial hallmark to the exterior and this narrows the date range from 1834-37.  The handle is baleen and has a twisted and canted over end with a silver cap.

 

Condition

Normal age related wear and some knocks to the bowl.  Handmade bowl has signs of the working.  Some delamination of the baleen in places, but not severe.
