Description
A wonderful flambe crystalline glaze plate by Bernard Moore. The flambe technique produces unique and unpredictable effects so every item is different. On this example the crystal fronds on the left of the main image quickly fade into an ochre glaze, although their detail can still be made out if you look closely. The reverse is largely red with ochre spots and rim. To the reverse is the Bernard Moore painted mark, and there is an impressed clay mark which is somewhat obscured but likely reads Mintons. It dates around 1910 and is a lovely example of this sought after ceramicists work..
Condition
Minor glaze imperfections from firing, otherwise very good.
